Terms and Conditions

All plant is hired solely in accordance with The Hire Association Europe model conditions of hire, copies of which are printed on the reverse of all hire contracts and displayed in the Hire Centre.
Further copies will be forwarded upon request.

Cleaning Charge
Cleaning charges will be made on any items of equipment returned dirty or heavily soiled. Extra charges will be incurred for equipment contaminated by dangerous or obnoxious substances.

Equipment Quality Assurance
When you hire plant and equipment from Acorn Hire Centres, you can rest assured that our experienced engineers have meticulously checked for safety and correct operation.

Many of the machines that we hire can be extremely dangerous if used incorrectly. We will always do our best to ensure that your safety is paramount. Each machine will be demonstrated to the person receiving it, who will also receive verbal and written instructions on its safe and correct use, however, please note that we can only instruct on the safe use of the equipment and are not qualified to give formal instructions on how to carry out specific jobs.

The person receiving the equipment should recognise his/her duty under the Health & Safety at Work Act to ensure that all such instructions are passed on to the users of the equipment. Employers in particular should be aware of their duty in this respect.

We strongly recommend the use of Circuit Breakers with all 240v machines and thus will be pleased to supply the necessary breaker applicable to the equipment.

Protective clothing... We strongly urge customers to use adequate protective clothing suitable to the equipment being used and the job carried out. Particular consideration should be given to the protection of the head, eyes, ears, lungs, fingers and feet. We will be pleased to supply the necessary helmets, goggles, ear defenders, gloves and safety boots and even protective overalls if required.
